I went running with Beeg Seester this morning.
That has absolutely no relevance to this post, but it felt so good to be running again that I wanted to say that.
Before I went running this morning (just after rolling out of bed, actually), I made some cupcakes.
And after I went running this morning (and cleaned myself up, did chores, and ate lunch), Able Baker Dana came over to turn the cupcakes into little yellow duckies.
I know (I think?) I've told you about the Hello, Cupcake! book before.
Able Baker and I are having fun doing some of the projects in the book.
We started building duckies by gluing a donut hole, and half a (diagonally cut) marshmallow to each cupcake with icing.
Then we filled in just a bit with some additional icing.
The cupcakes sat in the freezer in this condition for a bit while we made some beaks and feet with orange fruit chew candies (and some from-scratch lemon curd for another project...which was a lot of work but, zowie, is it goooood).
After the cupcakes were partially frozen, we dipped them in some tinted, canned ( it works best!) icing that had been warmed in the microwave until it was creamy.
The little duckies started to take shape at this point...
...but we felt rather badly for the poor, blind things.
A dot of icing and some mini M&M's and, voila!
Now, Able Baker Dana always seems to have more fun than I do when we do this sort of thing.
She laughed about the fatso duck she created...I call him 'Pond Daddy'.
But I gotta tell ya...the one she made with the eyes really close together and a bit of a 'beak issue'...
...well, I understand this guy.
I feel just like this sometimes.
Know what I mean?
