It's New Year's Day.
It's 3:30.
I am still in my pj's.
And loving it.
It's been a nice quiet day at home with Prince Charming.
While we watched the Rose Parade, and I reminisced about the years Daddy took us kids down to see it (how I miss him!), I worked on a little project for the upcoming wedding.
I love it when helping someone with the details of a special day means I get to buy a new toy.
I purchased this craft punch just for this project, but that's only because it's nice to have immediate justification for my expenditures; I'm sure I'll use it for many other things.
I like the way the vellum, in particular, really shows off the embossing aspect of this punch.
Once all the flowers had been punched (from two different types of paper), I used a 1/8" circle punch to put a hole in their centers.
And a bone folder to gently curl their petals.
One up, two down.
But don't ask me why.
I don't know.
I took one silk floral stem and cut off all the buds.
I thought I would use them like this, but I wound up cutting even the two buds apart so I could push just one down into the center of each flower.
The ribbons we used to tie the napkin rolls also serve to secure the flowers.
A little more color for the tables, and one detail closer to a very special day.
For two very special people.
