Omigersh.
The Prince and I finally sat down together last Sunday afternoon and put both our schedules on one calendar page.
The time alone together was wonderful as always, and writing on paper with a fine-point black pen is something I never tire of, but *ZOWIE* and *YIKES* !
We had to to do little slash and burn on that schedule.
I think things are looking better.
We have four free hours now.
-------
I hate to think about how many of my inchies include drawings of food, but we do have to eat every day, and we often have the pleasure of eating with people we love.
And it's easier to draw a picture of food, than it is to draw a picture of laughter or conversation.
On Monday, a long day on the job was broken up by a walk across the street to the hospital to buy a delicious salad and have a happy lunch hour with a couple of great friends.
It brought a whole new meaning to the term 'hospital food'.
-------
On Tuesday, Sam-I-Am came back seeking revenge - since I'd won our game of Phase 10 the week before.
I had a layer of chocolate cake and a layer of strawberry cake in the deep freezer (leftover batter from all those mini-cupcakes I made for the shower), so I glued them together with a little buttercream frosting and served them Neapolitan Dessert.
I wonder if it tasted better because we'd made up a name for it.
I know it was happier because of the sprinkles.
Non-pareils are just happy things.
I served it frozen...
...and three quarters of it are still in the deep freezer.
When are you coming for dessert?

I'm doing a Beth Moore Bible study ("Breaking Free") with the women from our church this fall.
It's rich, and good, and a lot of work.
And I'm so grateful to be able to do it.
God's love and kindness, and patience and tenderness, are so vast.
I want to see that - and believe that - so much more than I do.
And to be like Him so much more than I am.

Thursday after work I made the trip back to Prairie Quiltswith Dear Reader Annski.
With no men yawning in the background we were free to see the whole store.
And what a store to see!
When I go into a store like this, with so many possibilities on it's shelves, I like to say to myself, "Self, you can buy anything you really want in this store today. Anything. Go forth and conquer."
I always enjoy the browse so much more, and come home with so much less that way.
This trip I bought...
A half yard of this fabric which needed to be purchased by moi.
Moi, who was born to cut.
Moi, with the scissors collection.
Moi, I tell you.
I also bought these two fat quarters so I can get started on more Wallies for the Christmas shoppers who shop at Gwen's.
I must learn how to do without sleep so I can get them made.
I have long been in love with red and white quilts, so I decided to start picking up red fat quarters when I find a pattern I really like.
And since I was spending my birthday money, I treated myself to three of them this time.
I'm just sure that by the time I have enough fat quarters to start this quilt, I will have all my other non-finished quilts completed.
You believe me, don't you?
I bought this fat quarter...
...just because I liked it.
Some day, when I make something with it, I will remember the trip I made with my friend...
...and how much I liked it.
