Oh, wait.
Make that, "Where have I been?".
Well.....
Sometimes I've been at work.
When I told my former co-worker that I was coming back to work, one of her first questions was, "Are you going to bring me some of that Frank Hussey coffee?".
Frank Hussey was my father (how would you feel about that for a maiden name?).
He drank so much coffee that I used to think all daddies came with a coffee cup growing out of their right hand.
He was never without a trusty Thermos full of brew.
And when we lost him, one of the Thermos' came to be mine.
There is nothing special about the coffee I put in here to carry to work (just like Daddy).
But it's pretty special that a friend of mine - who never even met him - would remember my daddy's name.
Because he labeled his Thermos...
...and that's what makes it special to me.
-------
I've been in my studio.
Making hundreds and millions of greeting cards for that family calendar project.
Okay.
Maybe I'm exaggerating.
But it feels that way sometimes.
-------
Occasionally, I've been at the computer desk.
Answering emails.
Like the one I received from my new friend at Inchie Arts, asking if I would be willing to send her three of my Inchies for an article she is writing for a paper arts magazine in the UK.
I told her I'd be happy to duplicate some and send them to her, but I couldn't possibly pick which ones.
These are the duplicates I made of the ones she chose:
The article will be published in December.
I'll let you know when I'm rich and famous.
-------
I've been to my D'Art group meeting, where we are working our way through this book (I haven't read very much of it yet, but I found the introduction well-written and very interesting).
My Wildflower Friend couldn't be with us, but she sent a bouquet to me via Miss B.
It was lovely.
Just like she is.
-------
I've been to the thrift store.
And while I was at the thrift store, I spied an ugly - but 6 foot long - buffet for sale for $75.00.
My friend, Patti-is-Fun, agreed that it would be the perfect thing for our big foyer.
After I apply some elbow grease and paint.
I called the Prince and asked him to come look at it and, as we stood there debating, a couple of my other friends happened to come into the store.
They also thought the piece would be great for our foyer.
But one of them noticed that it had a green price sticker on it.
And everything marked with a green price sticker was half-off that day.
How nice was that?
I'll need to buy some paint.
And some nice hardware.
But I couldn't find any nicer friends anywhere.
-------
I've been at the dinner table with my married shoots, eating tacos and enjoying their company.
After which, I went back to the studio to make the favor tags for Baby Girl's shower Saturday.
A lot of peeps love that Baby Girl already.
And thirty of them will be here for brunch Saturday.
-------
I've been in the kitchen.
Long enough to makeover 100 sandwich cookies, four dozen lemon raspberry mini-muffins, four dozen applesauce oatmeal mini-muffins, four dozen banana mini-muffins, and probably 120 chocolate and strawberry mini-cupcakes.
The quiche, sausage balls, and fruit/yogurt/granola parfaits will be made...ummm...
...soon.
-------
Know where else I've been?
I've been...
...getting older.
And, I thank God, more cognizant of the privilege of doing so.
God is good.
And that's Who makes life so good.
