I accidentally starting re-organizing my studio the other day.
I think it just hits the high-water mark every few months and has to be purged, re-thought, and refreshed so I can think and create in it again.
Of course, that often means I touch things that I haven't laid a hand on in while.
Over the course of the last few days I've rediscovered some interesting things.
Including some of the greeting cards I made forty-plus years ago.
And as I held them and looked at them, I was amazed.
Amazed that Me Darlin' Mither - who had nine of us chillens bringing 'stuff' into her life - had managed to save them for me.
And I was tickled.
Check out this extremely beautiful Valentine I made in grade school.
I actually remember making this in class.
I thought those eyelashes were so kewl!
I'm sure the sentiment inside was teacher-generated.
But I'll bet she never heard of an Inchie.
I know I'm probably making you sick with envy over my card-making skills, so I chance driving you to despair by showing you the special birthday card with hand cut letters I made for my grandma.
But I'm hoping it will inspire you to make some handmade cards of your own.
Don't be disappointed if yours doesn't come out as professional looking as mine.
Remember, I was born with a scissors in both hands.
Plus, if your artwork leaves you feeling dissatisfied, you can make up for it by writing an eloquent greeting inside.
Like I did.
And just so Grandpa didn't feel left out on Grandma's birthday...
...I made sure he was covered.
Obviously, I was a very sentimental and emotional little girl.
Not to mention artistic.
Like I said...
Don't be jealous.
Just let it inspire you.
