I've been casually looking for fabric and trim to make a special dress for Baby Girl.
I am just itching to sew another long baby gown, but I haven't been able to commit to any of the fancy fabrics I've seen, nor have I been able to find a cotton fabric which is both heavy enough and soft enough.
So, when Miss Mary Mack asked me to go thrift-store shopping with her on Monday, and I just happened to stumble upon this lovely cotton sheet, I knew immediately it needed to go home with me and begin its second life.
The cotton is so soft, the trim is the perfect size, and the price...well...it set me back $2.16.
I can hardly wait to get started sewing.
Miss Mary didn't find what she was looking for in the shop where I found this, so we decided to drive to another.
During the discussion on the way we realized we already had what she needed, but we went to the next store anyway.
Et voila!
I picked up this adorable cotton crib skirting for 54 cents.
Because, eventually, Baby Girl will need a cute little summer dress, too.
And when she wears it, I will remember the fun I had shopping with my own baby girl.
