I got so distracted by all the beautiful blackberries last time I was out at my seester's place, that I forgot to post the pics of my beautiful chickens roosters and the latest addition to my seester's fowl collection.
Seems like there is something new each time we visit.
My own dear roosters still maintain their separate residence across the street.
They do not mingle with the mortals.
I make no comment on the irony of this situation.
One of them refused all attempts at photographs, and the other was just thirsty enough to hang around the drinking buckets long enough for me to get these shots.
I'm sorry, I can't say if this is Alistair or Ambrose.
Kids change so quickly, and clearly I don't visit often enough.
Should I admit that I had to make clucking and crowing noises to get him to turn toward the camera?
Nah.
Isn't he coloring up beautifully, though?
My Chicken-Raisin' Seester tells me he may escape the chopping block just because he is so beautiful.
Now, if that's not a statement in keeping with our culture...
Actually, she just has enough roosters to suit her purpose, and they do make trouble when there are too many of them.
Aside from the numerous young quail, and a lovely new chicken whose picture I did not capture, seester had added a rather large black duck to her brood, and he was roaming the hen house when we visited.
Meet Elvis.
I had a hard time getting his photograph.
But I'm guessing you can still see where he got his name.
I wish you all could meet him in person.
He really is a funny sight, head-on.
And you should hear him sing.
