My good friend, Helen Weels, is having a birthday today.
She is just months behind me in age.
When we get together, we sometimes talk about this phase of our lives.
The joys.
The challenges.
Because I know that she cherishes the handmade gifts I give her, and she especially loves my paper dolls, I went to my studio to make a one-of-a-kind doll for her.
I wanted the doll to represent something personal between us.
I prayed for inspiration.
But I'm not going to blame the result on God.
I'm probably just not a very good listener.
Wham-O.
