Hey kids!
I got kind of excited today when I went to fill my little 'shaker vases'.
In part, because it was a lot easier than the hours I'd just spent in the yard helping Prince Charming do some serious pruning (serious as in four large blisters and a cut on my hands).
But mostly because I was looking at all those caps I had removed from the shakers and, of course, daydreaming about what I could do with them.
I got to looking at the size of the pour-holes and realized they might serve me best if I just put them right back where they came from.
Because - look! - they do all the flower arranging for me!
Love that! Because, large or small, flower arrangements just aren't a strong suit with me.
Plus, my litle wildflowers have very slight stems and they get some support this way.
I thought you might like to know this, if you plan to make some Shaker Vases of your own.
I wound up using mine for my May Baskets.
Also...
You remember the varmint?
Look who rode in on the Mayflower(s).
I don't think the New World agreed with him, though.
He's not with us anymore.
And these aren't with me any more.
But I've got an Inchie to remember making my first Shaker Vase.
And more flowers growing in the garden.
So it's all good.
