I've been letting myself imagine what it might be like to have a Baby Girl around here.
Our plans for Little Man have to do with building a fabulous sandbox (with ramps for the dumptrucks), going out to my seester's "chicken ranch" to ride the horse and pester the hens, and teaching him to play the guitar 'like Poppa'.
Since I heard about Baby Girl, though, I've been having visions of story time, puppet making, sparkly little tutu's, and playing with paper dolls.
Oh, if only she could just love paper dolls!
I am willing it to be.
In between coats of paint on my latest project, I've been playing with all the little pieces of paper in these drawers.
I am making paper dolls.
And since Baby Girl can't play with me yet, I thought I'd give a paper dolly to one of you, Dear Readers.
Maybe you have someone to play paper dolls with already.
Maybe you would like to play with this one.
She is all ready for summer fun.
She has her bathing suit and sandals on, and her little cover-up and beach ball.
She has another suit...
... and cover-up, just in case you go to the beach and the pool.
When Independence day comes, she'll be ready to celebrate.
And if you want to go play dollys with a friend, she'll be ready for that, too.
Of course, some days you will just want to stay home and draw with the sidewalk chalk, and that's one of her favorite things.
When she goes to church, or out for a special lunch with Mama's grown-up friends, she will wear her little brown Mary Jane's and her favorite summer dress.
She keeps all of her things in this little suitcase.
And, my goodness, herself as well!
Her clothes and accessories have repostionable glue on the back, so you can change her outfits over and over again.
She likes that!
While I was making her little wardrobe, I found myself humming an old rock-and-roll song from 1960.
Can you tell by looking at the pictures what song it was?
Do you have a favorite song or group that was popular during the '60's?
Leave a comment on this post telling me all about it.
I will have a random drawing at 8:00 a.m. on Memorial day and send this little dolly to the winner.
I hope it's you.
